M-Wood Corporation is an Indiana-based company bent on creating fine furniture and furnishings for the home and office. Our designs are inspired by our customers and our lives. Our construction techniques are a synthesis of traditional furniture craftsmanship and modern design technology. We use primarily solid woods, not veneers, because of their beauty, durability, and variety. Other materials sometimes find a place in our work, however, such as metal, hand-blown glass and upholstery.
The primary goal of our work is to meet the needs and tastes of our times and clients. Our designs, while leaning toward the modern, are still respectful of the long history of furniture making, paying homage to such eras as Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts, yet still staying fresh and timeless.
Our clients range from corporate offices to elegant restaurants to private homeowners. All have very different needs yet share the desire for furniture that is functional, beautiful, durable and versatile. Meeting those four basic needs in one solution is where we excel.
An architect by trade, Jeffrey Morgan's artistic eye revolutionized the family business with a flowing organic style and meticulous construction techniques.
During childhood, creating well-constructed pieces from Lincoln Logs and Legos® gave Jeffrey great joy. This passion carried him to the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture in South Bend, Ind., where he received a Bachelors of Architecture in 1999. While at Notre Dame, Jeffrey studied furniture design under renowned furniture craftsman Robert Brandt. He also spent a year in Rome studying the art and architecture of Italy, and absorbing the Italian passion for beauty and craftsmanship.
Upon graduation, Jeffrey practiced architecture at a large firm for several years until the opportunity arose to work for his father-in-law, Tad McBride, as director of design and sales at M-Wood Corporation. When Tad retired, Jeffrey purchased the company, becoming full owner.
Jeffrey now lives out his passion of creating lasting furniture for the modern world at reasonable prices.
