We would be delighted to build you a new design based on an idea, drawing or photo, or we can build you a piece that matches one in our current collections. Always keep in mind that we are able to modify the size or wood of anything you see on this Web site to suit your needs.

The Process

For custom work, M-Wood begins by asking questions. Beyond just finding out whether you want a table or a chair, we begin determining factors such as room size, other pieces of furniture in the room, how often the piece will be used, what stylistic tastes the client prefers, and even whether there are kids or animals around. We try to obtain photos of the location, as well as any pictures or drawings you may have of similar pieces or styles that you like. We communicate in a variety of ways during this process based on the location and needs of our client. We use drawings, photos and verbal discussions over email, telephone and in person to determine the final design of the project.

We will provide two- and three-dimensional sketches and a cost range for the project. At this point, we require a 10% design deposit to complete the design work and provide final computer generated drawings. Once you are fully satisfied with the final design and the final cost estimate, an additional 50% deposit is required before we can begin construction. During the construction phase we try to keep our clients updated on the progress of their piece through emails, phone calls and digital pictures. The lead time required for the construction phase can vary depending on the size and complexity of the piece, but generally plan on approximately 2 months. Once completed, final payment is due at or prior to delivery.

The Promise

All of our work is guaranteed for the lifetime of the original owner against any defect in workmanship and materials. Each piece is signed, dated, and numbered for authenticity.

We hand deliver to most locations to ensure your piece is handled appropriately, and because we like to see the smile on a proud new owner's face when they see the brand new work of art finally resting in the space for which it was designed.
